Sugar discovered floating in deep space for the first time

I find it absolutely fascinating that astrobiologists have identified sugar in outer space! A team discovered erythrulose, a type of sugar, in a molecular cloud near the Milky Way's center, which is about 27,000 light-years from Earth. This discovery suggests that sugars, essential for life, might have cosmic origins, possibly arriving on Earth billions of years ago. It really opens the door to exploring other important molecules that could have contributed to the emergence of life as we know it.
