Neanderthal genes may give modern humans’ muscles a boost

A recent study reveals that those with Neanderthal versions of a growth hormone receptor tend to have more muscle mass—271 grams more, to be exact! This genetic trait is particularly common in South and East Asia, showing just how interconnected our histories are.
