Webb’s mysterious little red dots may be hiding entire galaxies

Since the James Webb Space Telescope spotted little red dots in 2022, astronomers have been buzzing with questions about their nature. These distant red sources might actually be supermassive black holes, but they don't quite act like those we see nearby. A new study suggests these dots could be influenced by observational bias, revealing that they might not be a separate galaxy population after all. The research team has even found a lower-redshift galaxy, nicknamed 'Saguaro,' that could help us understand the evolution of these intriguing objects.
