South African jurist Navi Pillay wins Nobel Peace Prize

South African jurist Navanethem “Navi” Pillay has won the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to promote peace and international law. The Nobel committee praised her courage and integrity, as well as her work to bring war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide before the courts. Her career has taken her from defending anti-apartheid activists in South Africa to serving as a judge and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Pillay, 85, also drew laughs with a playful remark about sharing the prize with Donald Trump.
