Two new compounds could reveal hidden drivers of Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer's disease is a major challenge, affecting millions, and while some treatments exist, they mainly address symptoms. Researchers have developed two new compounds that could help unlock the mysteries of the TAOK protein family, which is linked to Alzheimer's. One compound, VU6083859, is the first selective inhibitor of TAOK-1, paving the way for future treatment research. The other compound, VU6080195, surprisingly activates TAOK proteins, opening up exciting new avenues for study.
