I've been online since the mid-90s, and it's wild how platforms can go downhill so quickly. There's a term for this now: enshittification, which describes how platforms start off great but eventually prioritize profit over user experience. This leads to a cycle where users are left frustrated and disengaged. My project, Positron Today, aims to counter this by providing a positive news site without the usual commercial pressures. It's a small step, but I believe it's important to explore alternatives to the current model.Ik ben sinds de jaren '90 online en het is verbazingwekkend hoe platforms zo snel kunnen verslechteren. Er is nu een term voor: enshittification, die beschrijft hoe platforms eerst geweldig zijn, maar uiteindelijk winst boven gebruikerservaring stellen. Dit leidt tot een cyclus waarin gebruikers gefrustreerd en ongeïnteresseerd raken. Mijn project, Positron Today, probeert hiertegen te werken door een positieve nieuwssite te bieden zonder de gebruikelijke commerciële druk. Mon projet, Positron Today, vise à contrer cela en fournissant un site d'actualités positives sans les pressions commerciales habituelles. C'est un petit pas, mais je crois qu'il est important d'explorer des alternatives au modèle actuel.
