So, back in 2019, an architecture firm called Blue Temple set out to create affordable housing for families in Myanmar affected by civil war. They built these amazing bamboo homes for just about $1,000 each, and guess what? A week after they were completed, a massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit the area, but these little houses stood strong and undamaged! The design is clever, using local bamboo that’s both cheap and strong, allowing for flexibility during seismic events. Now, Blue Temple is even sharing a DIY manual to help families build their own homes — how cool is that?
