Patient’s own mitochondria injected into eyes in attempt to restore vision

So, scientists have taken mitochondria from a woman's leg muscles and injected them into her eyes to tackle severe blindness. Interestingly, while the procedure didn't cause any inflammation, it only had a temporary effect on her light responses. The goal was to see if this could help restore function in her damaged retinal cells. Although the results were mixed, it's a fascinating step forward in exploring mitochondrial transplants for vision restoration.
