7 billion zł for a groundbreaking project. Poland will gain a huge 'water battery'

Poland is set to build its largest pumped-storage power plant near Lake Rożnowskie, with a staggering budget of around 7 billion zł. This facility, expected to be operational by 2033, will feature a massive upper reservoir that can hold at least 7.7 million cubic meters of water. It will act like a giant battery, storing excess energy and providing power during peak demand. This project not only promises to stabilize the national energy system but also aims to create hundreds of jobs and enhance flood protection in the region.
