One in four care workers now come from non-Western countries

So, here's what's happening in Danish elderly care - a new report from KL shows that 25 percent of sosu workers now have non-Western backgrounds, and this number has doubled since 2016. And here's the thing: without these dedicated professionals, the system would simply collapse, as one expert puts it so bluntly. Which brings me to the real challenge - better language training during their education is crucial if we want to support these workers properly. Now, with Denmark facing a shortage of over 23,000 care workers by 2035, these international professionals aren't just helpful, they're absolutely essential to keeping elderly care alive.
