Venus may have swallowed its own moon

So here's a fascinating puzzle that's been bugging scientists for years - Venus is basically Earth's twin in size and structure, yet it has no moon. New research from UC Riverside suggests something wild: Venus might actually have had a moon once, but its own gravity and incredibly slow rotation pulled it back down to crash into the planet. The key difference is that Earth's moon drifts away from us at about four centimeters per year because our planet spins quickly enough to transfer energy outward. But Venus takes 243 days just to rotate once, which means any moon would gradually spiral inward instead. Computer simulations testing this theory were remarkably consistent - across nearly every scenario, the hypothetical moon eventually collided with Venus, with larger moons crashing in even faster.
