I am absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news from the steppes of Kazakhstan! For the first time in over 200 years, two Przewalski’s horse foals have been born on Kazakh soil, marking a massive milestone for conservation efforts. It is just incredible to see these majestic animals adapting so well to their ancestral home after being wiped out by human expansion so long ago. And here is the thing: these little ones are proof that rewilding projects can actually work when we put our minds to it. I cannot wait to see how this herd grows and thrives in the wild.Ik ben ontzettend enthousiast om dit prachtige nieuws uit de steppen van Kazachstan met jullie te delen! Voor het eerst in meer dan 200 jaar zijn er twee veulens van het Przewalskipaard geboren op Kazachse bodem, wat een enorme mijlpaal is voor natuurbehoud. Het is werkelijk ongelooflijk om te zien hoe deze majestueuze dieren zich zo goed aanpassen aan hun oorspronkelijke leefgebied nadat ze zo lang geleden door menselijk ingrijpen waren verdwenen. En weet je wat het mooie is: deze kleintjes zijn het levende bewijs dat herwilderingsprojecten echt kunnen slagen als we ons ervoor inzetten.
