Grow pomegranates on your balcony this October

So, you don’t need an orchard to grow pomegranates - a sunny balcony or terrace and a suitable pot can be enough to get started. Gardening creator Anish Sinha recommends the Super Bhagwa variety and a container with good drainage, ideally around 16 inches or larger. He suggests a loose potting mix with garden soil, sand and cow dung manure, with additions such as neem cake, cocopeat or vermicompost. For a simpler start, choose a healthy nursery plant, give it plenty of sun and keep the soil moist without letting it become waterlogged.
