So, just two weeks after launch, ESA’s Sentinel-3C satellite has sent back its first colorful views of Earth, including Italy, the Canadian Arctic and the Caribbean. Its instruments also measured the height of Greenland’s ice sheet and the sea surface. The satellite will help monitor oceans, ice, land and the atmosphere, supporting work on everything from marine heatwaves to wildfires and drought. De satelliet gaat oceanen, ijs, land en de atmosfeer helpen observeren, en levert zo gegevens over onder meer hittegolven op zee, bosbranden en droogte. Sentinel-3C est encore en cours de préparation avant sa mise en service, mais ces premières images sont déjà très prometteuses.
