A beluga whale has been spotted in Donegal Bay, marking only the second sighting of the Arctic species in Ireland to be validated by the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group. A member of the public captured drone footage of the whale on Saturday. The group says the adult appears to be swimming strongly and breathing normally, and that shallow, brackish water is common for belugas. The sighting may point to more frequent visits from Arctic whales, and the group is asking the public to share photos or videos of any further sightings.
