Poland and Germany offer 30,000 free train tickets to young people

So here's something really exciting - Poland and Germany have launched the Polish-German Friendship Ticket, making 30,000 free train passes available to young people aged 18 to 27. To snag one, you'll need to take part in a knowledge quiz about Poland, Germany, and railways between September 15 and 22, with winners selected based on their scores. The ticket is special because it lets you travel throughout your neighbouring country plus get from home to the border and back - and it's valid for one month between November 2026 and October 2027. Which brings me to the clever part: this initiative is designed to boost youth mobility, encourage cultural exchange, and strengthen direct connections between people in both countries.
