Getting paid to sleep more actually works - and boosts college grades

So here's something fascinating - researchers at the University of Pittsburgh paid over 1,100 college students about $5 a night to hit that seven-hour sleep target, and it actually worked. The students who got the incentive slept an extra 19 minutes per night and hit their seven-hour goal 26% more often than those without payment. And this is the really cool part - their GPAs rose by about 0.08 points that semester, which is a meaningful jump. Even after the payments stopped, these students kept sleeping a bit longer, showing that the habit actually stuck around for weeks.
