Scientists detect radio signals from an exoplanet for the first time in history

So: scientists have finally picked up radio signals from an exoplanet, which is a huge milestone! The signals come from Beta Pictoris b, a young gas giant about 63 light-years away, and were detected using the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa. These radio waves are caused by intense magnetic activity, kind of like the planet’s magnetosphere shouting into space. It’s fascinating because it confirms theories about magnetic fields around young massive planets and opens new ways to study worlds beyond our solar system.
