A textile cover more than triples strawberry yields

I love this clever twist: in tunnel field trials, a breathable textile cover helped strawberry plants produce up to 3.56 times more fruit than uncovered plants. Its layered, three-dimensional structure keeps insects away while letting sunlight, rain, and air reach the plants, with no harmful effects on plant health. The cover also provided steady warmth, helping plants reach the fruiting stage earlier without reducing their access to light. So, this research points to a promising way to boost strawberry harvests and potentially reduce pesticide use and water needs.
