Mobile Ebola lab speeds up diagnosis in Congo

So: healthcare workers in Butembo, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, are using a mobile lab to test samples from suspected Ebola cases. Results that once took up to 72 hours can now arrive within 24 hours, and sometimes in as little as six. A negative-pressure system helps protect technicians and the surrounding environment while they work inside the trucks. Because the lab can be moved closer to affected communities, faster results help guide patients to care and get confirmed cases treated sooner.
