Stunning fossil reveals dinosaurs' distinctive path to flight

So: a remarkably well-preserved fossil has revealed Norellraptor barsboldi, a feathered dinosaur with traces of feathers on its forelimbs, hind limbs and tail. This small microraptorine lived in what is now China and offers fresh clues about how flight evolved. Researchers found that about 30% of its flight-related adaptations also appeared in birds, but the features developed in a different order. And here's the thing: that difference supports the idea that feathered dinosaurs evolved flight more than once.
