Teenager receives UK’s first testicular tissue transplant

So: a 19-year-old in Edinburgh has become the first person in the UK to receive a transplant of his own testicular tissue, frozen before chemotherapy three years ago. The pioneering procedure aims to help the tissue produce sperm, but doctors will need several months to learn whether it has worked. It could open new fertility-preservation options for boys who are too young to freeze sperm before treatment.
