Hundreds of ice age engravings emerge in a Spanish cave

So: a popular tourist cave in northeastern Spain has been hiding 280 Paleolithic engravings in plain sight. The remarkable collection includes 55 animal figures, among them horses, deer and a rare bear, making it one of the largest finds of its kind on the Iberian Peninsula. Researchers say the faint carvings may have blended in with modern graffiti, and the art was first discovered in 2019. Access is now limited to protect the engravings, while researchers hope to study them further and explore sediment-filled galleries for more.
